McKenna's 2yr Stats...and we are so happy!!

So McKenna had her two year apt. today. For those of you who know about our struggle with her weight gain...and seemingly lack there of it will understand how excited were today to see her growth. For the first time since she was 6 months old her weight actually plotted onto the growth chart...for the first time she was not under the 5th percentile and actually landed in the 10%!!! She gained 3 and a half pounds since her last visit to a whopping total of 23lbs 8oz. Her height measured in at 32 3/4inches and she fell into the 25th% there...so she is very proportionate for herself. Everything else went very well also...she is right on track developmentally, and her Dr. actually recommended holding off on potty training until everyone was settled in and all the adjustments made with the new baby coming...we discussed what to expect there also, of course we have to wait and see, but I think she will adjust just fine.

Celebrating McKenna's Day

Since today was McKenna's actual birthday...the day was all about her from start to finish!!! We started the day out by going out to breakfast with Nana, then we went to the playground. Once at home it was nap time and then more time for playing...once Daddy got home we enjoyed one of McKenna's favorite meals of macaroni and sauce and then time for cake once again...she still didn't like the singing...but she loved blowing out the candles...so much so that we had to light them over and over again so she could keep doing it...I honestly thought the smoke detectors would go off.

She really hates it when you sing Happy Birthday!

But once she saw the candles all was good

Licking her plate clean
really she was just after the frosting
ending with a frosting kiss for daddy!

Happy 2nd Birthday McKenna Rae!!

Two years ago today we welcomed our beautiful baby girl into the world...now two years later we are preparing for the arrival of her sister and celebrating her accomplishments. There are times when I wish time would stand still and she would stay this little forever...and then I look into her eyes and see how much she has learned and accomplished in this short amount of time and can't wait to see what the future has to hold for her. Happy Birthday Baby Girl!!! Mommy and Daddy love you soooo very much!!!

The following pictures are from her birthday party yesterday...I will add a new post with pictures of her day today later.

Update on the upcoming birth of Landree Kate

Now that I am past the 32 week mark, I feel like all I do is spend my time at apts. Due to the fact that I have gestational diabetes, I have to go for weekly biophysical profile ultrasounds, and Non-stress tests. So on Wed we went for our first ultrasound, we found out that there are three things she is graded on and has a half an hour in which to accomplish those things to pass. One thing is movement, another is practice breathing and the third has to do with the amniotic fluid measurement. She passed her first one with flying colors. Thursday's are my apt. days with my OB...things are going well, the only adjustment we had was to my medication for the diabetes. I now have to take a small dose in the morning as well as at bedtime, with the baby getting bigger and the placenta's hormones even stronger it really wasn't a huge surprise. And then today and every Friday I go for my non-stress tests....basically you get hooked up to a monitor that monitor's the baby's heart beat and checks for contractions. In order to pass the baby has to have an acceleration of her heart rate by 15 beats twice with in ten minutes. And I was there for an hour!!!! Because Miss Landree was at first asleep and then started moving all over so much that we kept losing her heartbeat on the monitor and would have to start over again. I have a feeling it will be a long six weeks!

Washington County Fair 2008!

So we went to the fair a couple of days, first we went on Wed. night and met up with Jake's family...McKenna had a really great time riding the rides with her Auntie Jen and Grandpa Paul. Checking out all of the animals was so much fun for her too. When ever we got done with an exhibit she would say goodbye to that type of animal...it was quite cute to hear her say "bye cow", "bye Pigs", "bye sheep". I went back again on Sunday with my Mom and McKenna and we also met up with my Stepmom and Dad and they took McKenna on the rides while my Mom and I watched the concert. Let me just tell you...you know you are a hormonal pregnant woman when you cry listening to the lyrics of a country song at the freaking fair...yup, that was me, a blubbering mess. All and all we had lots of fun!

Photo Shoot with an uncooperative toddler!

So we took McKenna to get her 2 year pictures done with some added, maternity/family shots. She did not want to have any part of it...it was a quite painful experience at first...even I was in tears, the poor photographer must have been thinking that not only did she have a hellion toddler on her hands but also a hormonal pregnant woman. But all in all, considering how resistant McKenna was, I know these aren't the best pictures of her ever but I am astounded they were able to get anything at all.

Our Big Baby!!!

I know, I know, another post without pictures...this time you can blame it on the ultrasound tech...she didn't give me any. But just so you know we are going to the fair tomorrow, and then McKenna is getting her 2yr old pictures taken Thursday so I know there will be pictures up by the end of the week! Now back to the baby in my belly, I had to go for another fetal growth ultrasound today...by the way this is ultrasound number 7 so far this pregnancy and starting next week I go weekly for biophysical profiles which include ultrasounds. Anyway, for the last ultrasound little Landree was measuring in the 75th to the 90th%. They are expecting her to be on the big side of normal, and I know for many people this isn't to crazy but when your last baby was a mere 6lbs 8oz, this one scares me. She is once again measuring in the same percentile range and they are estimating her weight at this time, 31 weeks and 4days to be 4lbs 5oz...with a final weight to be some where in the 8 to 9lb range...as long as she stays under 10lbs, I will be happy. She is head down and I can now tell what is poking me and proding me at night.

Toddler For Sale!!!

Don't let her cute looks and pretty smile fool you. When she wants to be she can be the biggest monster around. It is called the terrible two's for a reason you know. At first it just started out being little things...now today it has been a whole day of craziness. This morning started out well...we headed off to pick up Grammy Pierce to go to BJ's to order the cake for McKenna's upcoming birthday. En route we passed a yard sale and I saw a play kitchen so we turned around to take a look...it was a Dora talking Kitchen in fabulous condition...so me being the nice Mommy that I am, picked up for $10 for my little "angel". Well when we got to BJ's all things changed...she has a thing against grocery carts lately and screamed, kicked and fought me the entire time I was struggling to put her in...she calmed down shortly after and we had a good 15 minutes of peace. Then I picked up a bag of chips for her party and she wanted some...well she wasn't getting any...so than she started screaming and crying bloody murder...luckily I did have some gold fish in her bag and that did keep her happy until we cashed out...but that is when she insisted on having a drink right then and there...well once again I didn't have a drink and told her she would have to wait a minute...of course that wasn't what she wanted to hear but she didn't protest to loudly. Finally we got her water and everyone was happy and we got in the car. On the way home I asked her if she was done with her water so that I could take it...she said no and continued to drink more...and of course this part is my fault, but I let her have the bottle just a tad to long...as the entire contents were dumped all over herself and her car seat is now water logged. When we got home, Nana was in the driveway as she was dropping some things off to me on her way to work, so she got McKenna out...(and a wet spot on her shirt for her efforts) and helped me get McKenna and our purchases in the house...that was going okay until McKenna realized that Dora (the kitchen) was still in the car and started throwing a fit about going in the house with out it...we got everything in the house, including Dora and life resumed to normal...or so I thought. Ummm that only lasted through lunch time, after which it is nap time, now normally she goes right in and lays down, with only once in a while getting up and having to be told to lay down....after an hour and a half of going back and forth with her...I admit, I was tired and gave up...it is now 7:20 pm and we are all going to bed early, because she never took her nap. I am sure that on most days, this all really wouldn't be to bad, but you see since I am 31 weeks pregnant, I am tired, ( I haven't slept well at night in I don't know how long) sore and hormonal which today means having a short fuse...Though I do love her with all my heart and soul...I am willing to sell her...even if it is just for a few hours so I can take a nap.
