The New Bean

We knew we wanted two children...and we knew we wanted them close in age. In Feb. we found out that we were to be blessed with our second child. This little one is expected to arrive sometime late September to early October. Things have definitely been more difficult this time around. Nothing about my two pregnancies have been the same. I have been sick from the get go with this little one. At the beginning Jake would joke that he didn't need an alarm clock, me suffering from morning sickness was enough to wake him. At our 20 week anatomical ultrasound this little bean did not want to cooperate, leaving us with the need for an additional ultrasound sound to make sure everything was okay. I was then diagnosed with gestational diabetes...this has been difficult to say the least. Poking my fingers 4times a day and sticking to a strict diet is not a picnic. But we get a lot more ultrasounds!!!! Which makes keeping the baby's gender a surprise much more difficult...LOL!!! I will be having another c-section, right now it is scheduled for very early Oct. but with the diabetes and having pregnancy induced hypertension with McKenna that is likely to occur again, there is a very good chance that this little one will be making it's appearance in late September. Our whole family is very excited about seeing whether McKenna will be a big sister to Landon Paul, or Landree Kate.

McKenna Rae Anderson

Our beautiful daughter McKenna Rae Anderson was born August 25th, 2006 via emergency c-section at 4:46pm and weighed 6lbs, 8oz and was 19 1/2 in. long. The last two years have been a great joy and she is the absolute light of our lives. We have had so much fun watching her grow and blossom from the itty bitty baby she was when she was born, to the independent, non stopping toddler that she is today. We look forward to sharing many more of her milestones and discoveries with you all.

How our story started...

Jake and I originally knew of each other from high school. We had some mutual friends but no real recognition of one another. After I had returned to RI after graduating from Michigan State by chance we ran into one another at the local county fair. Actually he was with his cousin who I have known forever and was having a conversation with...Jake just stood there, LOL. I had made the comment that if anyone wanted to get together sometime and go out that would be great. At the time I was working at a local coffee shop as a second job, I told them they could stop by while I was working and visit sometime. My next shift there, Jake stops by, orders himself a coffee (he RARELY drinks it by the way) and asked me what I was doing that weekend as his boss was having a party. I was dismayed as I was supposed to work at my other job, but I told him I would see what I could do and we exchanged phone numbers. I had already put in my notice at my other job, and crazily decided that I was just going to quit (I have never just quit a job before!!!) so that I could go to this party...that was the best decision I have ever made, the party was August 25th, 2001 and we have been together ever since. About four years later, we were wed on April 17th 2005 on a beautiful cruise ship in the middle of the Caribbean in front of our friends and family. I have now been employed by the Charlestown Police Dept. since Feb. of 2002 as an Emergency Services Dispatcher and Jake has been employed at the same location since June of 1997...although the business has changed ownership a few times, he has remained and is now the Assistant Manager at The Westerly Valvoline (an oil changing shop).
