Introducing Landree Kate Anderson

Landree Kate Anderson was born via repeat c-section on Thursday October 2nd at 8:29 a.m. She was 7lbs 8oz and 20 inches long. The surgery went well and it was good that things happened when they did as my placenta was starting to fail, so Landree was born right on time. I spent a little more time in recovery than I would have liked, but they had me back with Jake and Landree by a little after 10am. She was smaller than predicted but that was good...it showed how well I did controlling my diabetes...I was ready for something sweet after that, that is for sure! Jake's sister brought McKenna by 11am and she was asleep...Landree gave a little cry and that woke up big sister, looking around a little confused at first but taking to her new little sister like a fish to water. She was just in love from the start. She isn't so sure she wants her momma breastfeeding her but she will get over it. We had lots of family come visit while we enjoyed our stay at the hospital but by Sunday we were deffinitly missing McKenna and our bed and choose to leave a day early. Everyone is deffinitly tired and we are all still adjusting but things are going well...I am a little sore but that is to be expected.

The craziest thing about our delivery day though is that one of our good friends had been expecting too...although his wife wasn't due until Nov. 5th. They were actually supposed to come visit us at the hospital on Friday, but midway through the 2nd Jake got a text message from them saying she was in labor. At first we thought it was a joke, as Jake and him kid often, but no she was indeed in labor. We were all concerned at first as she was so early...but their son is doing just fine and had no issues due to his premature birth...the craziest part, is he was born exactly 10 hours to the minute after Landree at 6:29pm and the stats were identical, but one pound apart, he was 6lbs 8oz and 20 inches...who knows, maybe they are destined for marriage...LOL.

So for now we are all just enjoying our time together and I will be back often with how both kiddo's are doing.

Last Day as a family of three!

So today is the last day that our little family will consist of just three members. That is right folks the time has finally come. At this time tomorrow we will be a family of four. McKenna will be staying with Jake's sister tonight as the c-section is scheduled for 8am and we have to be at the hospital at 6:30. So today we are taking McKenna to gymnastics class, getting some laundry done and just enjoying our quiet time together...well as quiet as it gets with a two year old. I will try to get back on later to post pictures of McKenna at her gymnastics class...if not we will see you all again when our family is complete as a family of four. I will not be able to show off little Miss Landree until at least Sunday...even though the hospital has Wi-Fi, Jake has nixed the laptop from entering the hospital grounds...in his words, this will be an internet free birth!!! LOL. So wish us well and we will be happy to accept visitors any time after 1pm or so tomorrow, we will be at South County Hospital if you weren't sure.

Just Surviving!!!

Sorry I haven't posted for awhile...my title says it all, right now I am just trying to get by. Every day my belly gets a little bit bigger and I get even more uncomfortable but I also get closer and closer to my c-section date. It deffinitly is not easy being this pregnant while chasing a crazy energetic 2 year old around. Right now my c-section is scheduled for two weeks from today...so I know that I can't go past October 2nd. Little Miss Landree is doing well though...not getting too big, well we hope, she passes her weekly tests with flying colors. So for now I will just be trying to survive the next two weeks...and hope they pass quickly.

Latest Aquarium Visit

So the other day my Mom had my Nephew Brandon overnight. He had just recently had surgery to repair a hernia and have a birthmark removed from the top of his head, so his activities needed to be limited. That can be quite difficult, telling a 10 year old little boy to take it easy is not an easy task. He wanted to go to the park...but I know it would have been to hard for him to not jump around and play, so we thought about the movies...great idea except it is impossible for McKenna to sit still...then silly me remembered why it was so great to have a membership to the aquarium and how it is only 20 minutes away. So off we headed to spend the afternoon at the aquarium, and the best part of the day...it was already paid for so no money was spent, both kids were very entertained, and there was no way my nephew could over do it and hurt himself.
