Sorry I don't have any pictures with this update...really I am too lazy to download the Zoo ones from my camera...maybe another time. Last Sunday we went to the zoo with some friends of ours and now usually McKenna hates being in a stroller but they had brought their wagon that is built for two...and she rode in it the entire time. I am sure it was because she had a friend, but it was a start. We have one of those back pack things for her to wear that has a leash so she can't get away from us that we will be trying out on Tuesday when we go to the aquarium...I really love having a pass for the zoo...McKenna has so much fun.
Monday, Jake had a follow up visit to his pulmonary Dr. to see how his sleep study went after his surgery that removed his tonsils and widened his airway...the news was still bad. His severe sleep apnea was not helped at all. He knows he needs to loose a significant amount of weight and I know he has his mind set on doing it and I believe he will...in the meantime his Dr. wants him to do the sleep study again but with a cpap machine, he refused...and after much begging and pleading on my part, he has now agreed to at least try it. He will be waiting for the baby to be born, but I am happy with the fact that he is willing to try.
Wednesday, McKenna and I went with my Aunt Sis to visit my Auntie Dar at the campground, we had an absolute blast!!! It was a beautiful day so as soon as we got there we headed for the pool...I truly think McKenna was meant to have been a fish! She was in the pool for two hours straight and had no fear...she was jumping into my arms from the sides...we had to bribe her with food to get her out!!!
Thursday I had a Dr.'s apt for the new baby...everything went well, my blood pressure was good and that was a relief since it was elevated at my last week visit. My blood sugar levels have been a little out of whack on some days...but I contribute it to stress...Thanks Jake! They have been good the last few days...the new baby does not like the Doppler either...she kicks it away every time the Dr's put it on my belly. They are still making me go weekly, it kind of sucks but I know they are doing a great job keeping their eye on this little one. As of tomorrow, Jake is on vacation until the 28th, so we have lots of stuff planned for next week.

McKenna's First Trip to the Circus
The Big Apple Circus was in town. It is a small, but very very nice one ring circus, they keep it small so that there isn't a bad seat in the house and there really isn't...Jake wanted to make sure we had really good seats and we sat 4 rows back from the ring...next year he said I had to get tickets early enough for front row seats. We were unsure how McKenna would do because she is very much a go go go girl...we took her to see a live performance of the Backyardigans a few weeks back and she wasn't the most well behaved little girl...but she was great at the circus!!! She just loved it...the looks on her face made it so worth while, there wasn't a part that she just didn't love and that made it all the more exciting for us... we really can't wait until next year!

New Baby Update
My best friend has been up visiting with her family from Florida. And I was so excited and happy that she would be able to share in our baby experience with us. First off I had a Dr's apt on Monday and I was soo happy that the current medication that I have been at for the gestational diabetes has been working wonderfully and we are keeping it at that level. I was measuring a little big which is why I had the ultrasound today, to see just how big this baby is getting. By the way the baby is measuring right on target for wear it should be at this time. The only downer of my apt. is that my blood pressure has begun to go up some...I had problems with this with McKenna also so that will require monitoring for now too. When we knew that Trisha would be coming to our ultrasound with us, she asked us if she could find out what the baby is but of course not tell us, I didn't think that Jake would go for it at all and was surprised when he said yes. So today when we get to our ultrasound apt. I began to tell the tech that we didn't want to know but wanted her to tell Trisha if she could when Jake interrupted me by telling the tech that he would like all of us to know if she could tell...I was shocked speechlees, I thought for sure that he was pulling my leg and was joking, but alas he was not, apparently he had been thinking about finding out for a little while now and wanted to surprise me. And boy oh boy was the baby cooperative today! With her legs at her head, we had full view of our little girl!!! We are just sooo excited to be having another little girl. I really hope McKenna and Landree have a great sisterly bond...not to mention all the money we are going to save by reusing McKenna's clothes.

Celebrating the 4th of July
We had a relatively laid back 4th, for the most part we didn't do anything at all. We grilled for ourselves for but that was about it. Actually I even did my grocery shopping during the day. We attempted to take McKenna to the fireworks last year but they got rained out and although it was cloudy all day, we were hoping the rain would stay away. It did. So around 7:30 we headed out to set up shop to watch the fireworks display. We met up with my Father and Step mom, Jake's cousin and his girlfriend and a few other people from Jake's work. We went to a nice location too...there were lots of ways to keep McKenna occupied...first Grampy took her for a walk to get popcorn from the movie theater that was there, a little later they took McKenna for a walk to the ice cream shop (made Mommy jealous because she couldn't have any...darn gestational diabetes) and then even later the took a walk for coffee for uncle Ed. With all this walking and waiting it is no surprise that she passed out within seconds of being put in her car seat on the way home.
Waiting for it to get dark out...

Jake attempted to take pictures of the fireworks...I think they actually came out really cool looking.

Oh Those Terrible Two's!
So we were invited to celebrate the 25th Wedding Anniversary of a couple in our family...it was to be a family affair, that means McKenna was invited too. I now understand why people get babysitters! We only lasted a little while as our sweet angelic little girl disappeared and was replaced by a stubborn, rebelling, impatient toddler. Needless to say after much screaming, crying and throwing her food on the floor we made a hasty exit. I am praying this is a phase...and one she goes through rather quickly...we did get a couple of good pictures before the melt down began though.
